Human Rights Equity Access Team

Presented by SOY

H.E.A.T. (Human Rights Equity Access Team) is a program based out of Supporting Our Youth (SOY) at Sherbourne Health Centre. This program empowers LGBTQ2S* (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, 2 Spirit, and more!) young people by providing them with the skills and opportunities to share their stories, build stronger community networks, and educate others on Equity and Anti-Oppressive practice.

From health centres to law offices, elementary schools to university classrooms, our team has provided a variety of workshops and presentations. In the past, our work has been described as “essential”, “enlightening”, and “groundbreaking”.

In our work, we create engaging presentations through which we share our personal experiences as a diverse group of LGBTQ2S* young people, and help organizations learn how to better embody equitable practices which deconstruct and challenge oppression.
